Botanical Name: Achillea millefolium
Common Names: Milfoil, Noble Yarrow, Nosebleed, Thousand Leaf, Millefolium
Warning: Not for use during pregnancy unless instructed by medical professionals. Persons with allergies to other members of the Asteraceae family (such as feverfew, chamomile, or echinacea species) should exercise caution with yarrow, as allergic cross-reactivity is common to Asteraceae plants.
Yarrow has been used as an anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, antispasmodic, styptic (can stop blood flow when applied to wounds), and gentle bitter tonic. It has been used in skin care creations and herbal tea blends, such as to ease inflammation, infections, and menstrual cramps.
